Kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities can be considered the jewelry to your cabinetry and therefore you need to make the correct decisions when making a purchase. There are so many pitfalls, and the worst of all is the incurable desire to buy the lowest priced goods. While it is important to get a good deal, suffice it to say that if it is too good to be true it probably is. This industry is fraught with companies and individuals that will sell you countertops at a price that is unrealistically low. Remember that where there are so many pressure points on producing a product such as  price contraction, lower volumes and cost reduction, be sure that something therefore has to suffer. What could that be? Quality , warranty or service or perhaps all of the forementioned. The fact that is you are buying sub standard or commercial grade stone, or is this installation not warrantied, or the contractor does not have the relevant insurance or licence.

Bad quality material will lead tolatent defects and disappointment later on in years and could also be the reason why the Granite or Marble stains easily. It could be that the product is poorly polished or not sealed therefore leaving it more porous and susceptible to stains.

If you do not have a reputable company doing the installation, you might not be able to get any after sales service or warranty in case of damage or breakage as a result of poor grade material. We have had to make many service calls to new customers who have had a cheap installs done and repairs cannot be done to rectify the problem. In the bigger scope of things it can end up being more costly to fix.

One final note for this edition is be sure that you do not subject yourself to a potential damages claim. What many home owners and or builders do not know is that should and employee of an uninsured contractor be hurt on your premises then you coudl be liable for madical and legal claims.
